About the Classes

I run general art classes at various times throughout the year in which we covering a wide range of mediums, themes and styles. My classes are relaxed in nature and I usually start the session with a short demonstration or discussion. I then help  students on an individually basis with their work. Each month we focus on a particular subject or medium which could be developed over a couple of weeks. Some of my students like to work on our chosen theme whilst others prefer to work on their own projects. My aim is to enable all my students to find their own artistic direction and to find the mediums and themes which suit their own particular interests and tastes. Towards the middle of the session we have a break and I make refreshments. I charge £48 – £60 per month for classes depending on weather there are 4 sessions or 5 running each month. (This works out at  £12 per class.)

Are your classes suitable for absolute beginners?

Yes, we have beginners starting on a regular basis and I make sure that the projects and exercises can be tackled at different levels of ability.

Are the classes suitable for artists with more experience?

We have had a number of art graduates, former art teachers and experienced artist who have attended the classes for many years and they have benefited from working alongside other students in a creative focused environment.

Do you provide materials and equipment and what do I need to bring?

I keep a supply of materials for anyone in the class to try out.   If you have any materials already just bring them along but if not I’ve got plenty to get you started.   You can soon spend a lot materials so its best to try a few out first.  I can advise you on what and where  to buy.

Can you advise me on what materials to buy?

Do you sell materials?

I occasionally sell materials from a wholesaler called Seawhite.
