In the summer of 2018 I got the opportunity to take part in the Sky Landscape Artist of the Year. I had a fantastic day and was thrilled to win my heat which gained me a place in the semi finals of the competition.

I’d used my painting of Osbourne’s in Winter for my application to the competition.  I’d been feeling exited to be part of the show before hand but once I started painting I relaxed into it and started to really enjoy the whole process. My only real concern was that I didn’t want to let myself down with what I created on national television.

The semi finals took place in July on one of the hottest days of the year with Felixstowe Harbour as our subject.

My journey ended with the semi finals. I’d have loved to have gone further but I’d already achieved more than I could have imagined and I’d got further than many artists I admire. The icing on the cake was getting to exhibit my work alongside the finalists and semi finalists at Clarendon fine art in Mayfair in December 2018. The exhibition went on a tour of England in January and February and my work all sold during the exhibition. My
