Painted in the studio from sketches and references.  The inspiration for this painting came from a a couple of photos I snapped on a trip I took with my students to Hadleigh Castle on the Thames Estuary.  Its a location I particularly like as its a rare high point in Essex offering views across the surrounding landscape and estuary.  On this occasion I liked the way the children were exploring castle by climbing over it!
